Anthony “Tony” Shiels (Born 1938)

Painter with an interest in Surrealism, born in Salford, Lancashire, who studied at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art, 1954-56. He was a member of AIA and Penwith Society of Art, also showing elsewhere in the provinces and abroad. Had solo exhibitions at Rawinsky and Mingus Galleries. Settled in Ponsanooth, Truro, Cornwall, later in Ireland. There was a retrospective: Paris, St Ives, Cork at Mariners Gallery, St Ives, in 2003.
